Grampian Racial Equality Council has been highly commended by RaceActionNet for a new programme developed in-house. Outputs from the programme are used by GREC to form the information basis of reports to four multi-agency racist incident monitoring partnerships in Scotland. The programme is contributing to a step change in identifying trends and patterns in racist incidents.
"Everyone at Grampian Racial Equality Council was delighted when we heard the news that our work had been highly commended at the 2006 RaceActionNet Awards. It is a great encouragement in difficult circumstances. We hope that it will bring others to understand and appreciate the importance of good standards for the reporting of and response to racist incidents."
- Barney Crockett, Co-Director of GREC
